Job Description

Our Supply team are the team that fuels our customers, literally! Supply at Z Energy looks after the whole fuel supply chain and maintenance of all assets to ensure we have what we need, where we need it.

The role of Pūkenga Mātāmua Senior Engineer (Supply Lead) operates within our Supply investment stream ensuring a safe and operational bulk fuel supply chain, providing support to the Engineering Manager and coaching and guiding a diverse and skilled team of Project Engineers.

This is a key role that will work across the wider Assets Team to own the development and implementation of engineering projects and initiatives, ensure compliance with engineering standards as well as be across the standards of design and performance.

You will have the opportunity to

  • Contribute to providing Subject Matter Expertise in the application of standards and regulations, and best practice

  • Develop scopes of work, standards, and budgets for projects, including plans, timeframes, milestones, resources, reporting, quality control, and safety standards

  • Contribute to development and enhancement of design – including Design Verification and Safety in Design (SiD)across enterprise

  • Provide engineering advise to the Maintenance team to assist with their Integrity Management Programme

  • Coaching and mentoring of the project engineers and graduates

  • Lead projects that will support productivity and costs initiatives, re-engineering of systems, and work processes

  • Continue to foster a culture of incident free operations

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to Z

  • Proven experience as a Senior Engineer in Mechanical, Chemical and  Process, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.

  • Knowledge of major industry, preferably high hazards environments and/or major hazard facilities

  • Leadership skills, of people and/or projects

  • Excellent knowledge of and experience applying engineering standards in a variety of environments

  • Strong people skills, both to lead a team and to work with a number of internal and external stakeholders

  • The ability to influence without authority and sound decision making

  • Sound project management skills from inception to delivery

The base salary range for this role is $151,000 to $160,000 per annum, plus 15% STI based on company performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
