We are looking for an information management professional to lead Cabinet Office in maturing its information management processes.  This is an opportunity to apply your expertise in an environment where record-keeping serves the heart of government.  This role includes:

  • Leading the Registry team through providing subject matter expertise, while coordinating the team to deliver the core tasks;

  • Inform and influence Cabinet Office by providing specialist advise on information management and record-keeping functions, with a focus on developing and implementing fit-for-purpose information management policies and processes which reflect best practice;

  • Managing the EDRMS for Cabinet and Cabinet committee meetings and a range of other Cabinet Office functions, and managing archiving processes;

  • Leading the processes for, and responding to, information requests for Cabinet material;

  • Coordinating the weekly production of Cabinet material.

We select on capability and welcome a wide range of applications where the candidate can demonstrate the following:

  • A tertiary level qualification (information or records management preferred), or relevant knowledge, skills, and experience, including knowledge of records management principles and the Public Records Act;

  • Experience in developing and implementing information management policies and processes;

  • The ability to proactively and constructively identify opportunities for improvement;

  • Experience in managing or leading teams;

  • Knowledge of, and proficiency in, records management principles, current practices and relevant legislation;

  • Solutions focussed with the ability to solve problems and make service improvements;

  • Strong research skills for dealing with detailed/complex information requests;

  • Proven experience working with an EDRMS and records classification system;

  • Highly skilled in written and verbal communication, plain language and attention to detail;

  • Experience in recording, filing and archiving material,  and using associated databases and document management systems;

  • Experience in a busy and deadline driven organisation;

  • Experience with the Microsoft Office environment and the ability to learn, use and adapt to new computer technologies.

 

Security Requirements | Ngā Whakaritenga Haumarutanga

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a national security clearance at Top Secret level. Normally this entails New Zealand citizenship and 10 years of checkable background (in New Zealand, Australia, Canada the United Kingdom or the USA). Check your eligibility for a TOP SECRET security clearance.

Salary range (inclusive of KiwiSaver contributions): $80,516 - $89,462 p/a.

 

Please note the position also has a physical component involving photocopying, delivering material to offices across multiple floors and buildings, and lifting boxes.
