Te tūnga | The role   

As Advisor - Marketing and Communications you will be part of a customer-centric and collaborative team providing strategic and tactical communications and marketing advice across the organisation. The focus for this role is on internal and organisational communications.

Part of the Communications Team within the Office of the Chief Executive and reporting to the Communications Lead you will support end-to-end delivery of Stats NZ's communications and marketing activity.

We're looking for an all-rounder who enjoys being busy and is able to turn their hand to a range of communications activity.

You'll have a clear, concise and engaging writing style. You'll enjoy being busy and taking on a wide variety of tasks including writing articles and profiles for our intranet and website, creating talking points for senior leaders, taking photos and creating videos developing presentations, running logistics for events and of course, communications planning.

To be successful in this role you'll:  

  • be a communications all-rounder with experience in a similar role

  • have a passion for internal and organisational communications and culture 

  • bring a can-do, whatever it takes attitude and thrive on variety 

  • be skilled in written and oral communications and plain language champion 

  • have experience using marketing and communications tools including SharePoint, intranet and website CMS, e-newsletter platforms, video and Google 

  • be naturally organised and have great time management and excellent attention to detail 

  • be able to demonstrate sound relationship building skills  

  • have a good understanding of economic, social and governmental influences.
