About this role |Mō tēnei tūranga
As the Chief Advisor you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and expert advice on education sector workforce supply and school leadership issues. You will lead the development and delivery of advice, based on robust research and analysis. A large part of the role is looking across education workforce issues and shaping the direction. There is strong emphasis on policy and strengthening analytics, with an ability to foresee and respond to emerging issues. This role will utilise skills from a policy or economics background and will work alongside and complement a team strong in design and relationships.
Salary range: $139,346 - $169,396 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following capabilities and competencies:

You will also have:A tertiary degree in Policy, Economics or similar.
Well-developed presentation and writing skills.
Experience working at a senior advisory level in a large and complex organisation.
A great understanding of the machinery of government.
Sound political awareness.
An understanding of the education workforce and workforce development principles.
The ability to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
