Communications Specialist - Auckland

Unique opportunity for a skilled Communications Specialist who is keen to take ownership in a role with broad scope and genuine purpose. This role will see you collaborating with our exceptional team, working hard to deliver The Tindall Foundation’s giving strategy across Aotearoa New Zealand. You will have the opportunity to develop and share meaningful stories, messages and content that reflect the mahi of the organisations we fund and support. This role is based in our Auckland office.

The Tindall Foundation is a private philanthropic family foundation working throughout Aotearoa New Zealand donating around $12 million a year to support families, communities, and the environment www.tindall.org.nz

About the role

  • Work with our Trustees and staff team to develop and refine our Communications Strategy.

  • Work with our internal and external stakeholders to create a range of content for our website, newsletter and varied social media platforms.

  • Responsible for collecting and telling stories through writing, photography and video production.

  • Manage and monitor projects, ensuring outcomes are met and The Tindall Foundation is presented to key stakeholders and the public in line with Communication Strategy objectives.

  • Ensure an effective flow of information to internal stakeholders, including accurate documentation and preparation of Board papers.

  • Contribute to The Tindall Foundation team by maintaining and sharing current knowledge in your area of expertise and attending and contributing to meetings.

  • Occasionally liaising with media partners and outlets, including writing and issuing press releases and responding to requests & queries.

About you …

  • You have a breadth of knowledge & expertise across a range of contemporary communications methodologies, tools and platforms.

  • You have good understanding of tikanga Māori and are able to connect with Iwi, and Māori and Tagata Pasifika community organisations.

  • A highly effective written and verbal communicator, you have the ability to create compelling stories which convey the appropriate tone and message.

  • Your strong interpersonal skills, mean that building warm and effective external relationships comes naturally.

  • You’re self-driven, but thrive in a collaborate team environment, where you spend most of the week in the office and are able to travel occasionally.
