Job Description
With our Kaitaki Whakatairanga Matua – Hokohuhua Senior Marketing Manager – Convenience Retail heading off on their parental leave journey we are looking to welcome a new team member to the Z marketing whānau!
Stepping into this 12-month fixed term contract will see you lead across all our marketing channels for Z convenience stores – from long term strategy to point of sale advertising process. Ideally, we are looking for a May or June start.
Convenience retail is an exciting space at Z, and as one of our strategic priorities there is plenty of mahi to be done! As an experienced leader you will coach and mentor a team, bring your marketing strategy acumen and expertise in stakeholder management with the goal of achieving extraordinary outcomes.
This role could either be based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland or Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington.
You will have the opportunity to
Lead the annual strategic planning for convenience marketing alongside retail counterparts, ensuring we have an efficient and effective plan that delivers to strategy
Be responsible for the execution of convenience marketing activities, including budget management and leadership of the convenience marketing team
Work with other key stakeholders to ensure our convenience offer is best in class
Use your marketing knowledge and skills to delight our customers and win loyalty for Z
Go above the ordinary to develop communications and branding and ensure all marketing and communications are aligned and deliver on brand strategy and guidelines
Be proficient in understanding market research insights and utilising data to make great strategic decisions
Qualifications
What you’ll bring to Z
Expertise in developing, reviewing, and/or enhancing marketing strategy for good market exposure, profile, and revenue
You’ll be an experienced leader, capable to support and grow people both in your team and across the wider function
Expertise in the systematic identification, analysis, planning and implementation of actions designed to engage with stakeholders
And of course, you’ll be passionate about what matters to Z, embracing and living our values to help us deliver on our aspirations and broader commitment to Aotearoa New Zealand.

The base salary range for this role is $151,200 to $177,900 per annum, we also offer a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution.
