Te Tari o te Pou Koko Māori/Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Māori
Te Tari o te Pou Koko Māori provides strategic advice through:
leading the development and implementation of the University's Māori academic research and teaching objectives, strengthening Māori content, delivery and methodology
leading and supporting Māori staff and students through new and existing networks, helping mātauraka Māori flourish and furthering places where Māori staff and students can be Māori
developing innovative ways for all students to engage and learn about, and in, te ao Māori
growing our research that engages with te ao Māori.
Te Mahi/The Role
Kaiwhakahaere Kaupapa/Project Manager is a newly established role within Te Tari o te Pou Koko Māori.
This is an opportunity to apply your project management expertise, assisting in developing, advancing and managing a governance and management structure that oversees and drives the progression of the Whakamana i Te Tiriti o Waitangi Domain.
Key responsibilities include:
overseeing, supporting, and assisting Workstream Leads in developing annual operational plans, including setting KPIs, budgets, risks and mitigation, and reporting frameworks
communicating achievements and sharing progress being made in the advancement of the Whakamana i Te Tiriti o Waitangi Domain and Māori Strategic Framework goals
liaising across the University with Pae Tata Strategy and Implementation Leads to ensure alignment of Te Tiriti workstreams and initiatives in other Pae Tata Domains
undertaking relevant stocktakes/environmental scans to support Whakamana i te Tiriti o Waitangi
contributing to the development of a quality assured approach to benchmark good practice and exemplars of strategic Māori success at Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka
build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, partners and key stakeholders.

To be successful in this key role, you will:
have a tertiary qualification and excellent understanding of the tertiary education sector
demonstrate commitment to and expertise in Te Tiriti o Waitangi
have proficiency in te reo and tikaka Māori
have experience in project management, translating strategy into action, influencing organisational practice and contributing to transformative change.
Excellent oral and written communication and facilitation skills are essential for this role. We are looking for people who exhibit personal integrity, sound professional judgement, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

This position is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week), located in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.
You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this position.
The appointments range for this role is $78,018 to $82,753, Top of Range $97,368.
