Mōhiohio: Information Directorate

The Information Directorate delivers the ICT infrastructure and information tools to support the business and develops data, data products, information, and new tools for colleagues, customers, TEOs, and other agencies to support TEC's invest and champion goals.

He angitūtanga: About the Role

Reporting to the Team Leader Data/Development, the Principal Data Warehouse Developer provides data warehouse analysis and development expertise to support business initiatives and information reporting needs. 

  • Develop organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for the development and secure operation of data services and products

  • Plan and lead data engineering activities for strategic, large and complex programmes

  • Use your extensive experience in dimensional data modelling, extensive knowledge of SQL, and deep understanding of database full lifecycle designing and application development

  • Provide expert guidance, mentoring and support to other team members.

He kōrero mōu: What we are looking for:

This role involves working with Data Architects and Data Analysts to model implementation options and build technical solutions that meet business requirements.

  • Substantial technology experience that includes hands-on software development, data engineering, and systems architecture experience

  • Strong understanding of cloud-based data warehousing and ELT/ETL techniques and processes

  • Strong experience in SQL optimisation and performance tuning, and development experience in programming languages like Python

  • Experience with version control systems like Github and deployment & CI tools

  • Someone who possesses the people skills to mentor staff, provide feedback and work with the team to build skill and capability

The salary range for this position starts from $125,813 up to $148,015 + 3% KiwiSaver depending on demonstrable skills and experience.
