The Survivor Experiences Service provides a forum in which survivors can share their experiences of abuse in care in a trauma-informed and culturally responsive setting in order to facilitate healing. 

The Private Session Facilitator coordinates private sessions. They support Kaitakawaenga to hear the experiences of survivors through confidential and private face-to-face individual, group or online meetings, attending sessions throughout the motu as required, and ensuring a quality and consistent service for survivors.

This can include providing wellbeing support to survivors before, during and after their private session.

Experience working in a trauma informed manner, with personal resilience required due to the nature of the experiences heard from people who experienced abuse whilst in care as a child.  Sensitive and disturbing stories will be shared by Survivors, whilst being supported to engage in the safe space created for this.

Full Driver's License necessary

Regular travel, sometimes for several days, across New Zealand

Advantage to be open to working in prison environment.
