About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga
This is a Senior Management Accounting role in Wellington CBD with opportunity to work from Lower Hutt Regional office.
The Regional Accountant is part of the Finance Regional Delivery team providing financial reporting and insights to the Hautū (Leader), Regional Directors and Management teams that are accountable for public funds.
Regional Accountants are the ‘customer’ face of Finance for the Ministry’s Regional teams. The role also liaises with and utilises specialist teams in Finance to ensure the Ministry meets its statutory financial obligations, to deliver value to managers in business groups, and ensure quality and consistent advice and practices.
Salary range: Up to $120,690 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake
You will be an experienced Senior Management Accountant and demonstrated the ability to provide effective financial support and sound advice.
To be successful in this role you will have a practical and positive attitude, and shown the ability to build effective relationships and credibility with customers at all levels across an organisation.
You will also offer:
At least 2 years’ experience as a Senior Management Accountant undertaking financial modelling and in-depth financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting
Preferably have work in a public sector financial management setting
Can effectively influence and provide specialist advice to managers
Tertiary Qualification in Finance, Commerce or Business, and hold Professional Accountant status
The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake
This role is part of the Financial Planning and Performance Team within Te Pou Rangatōpū | Corporate. We support the various business groups within the Ministry by providing accurate, timely and expert financial advice, information and analysis to help the groups make timely and informed financial decisions, manage financial performance and be accountable for public funds.
