The Polynesian Health Corridors (PHC) team supports Polynesian countries through a range of modalities. In addition to directly assisting countries in some areas, the PHC team also contracts partners/suppliers for technical assistance, acts as a knowledge hub, supports mentoring and facilitates connections.

 

About the role

The Programme Management pillar will provide end-to-end support to the Polynesian Health Corridors programme to help deliver the objectives or the programme to Polynesian countries.

 

As Senior Advisor – Finance and Risk, you will lead the financial, budget and risk processes and oversight of the programme with support from the Lead – Programme Management.

 

Your communication skills are key, as you will provide risk identification relating to programme finance and budget, lead sessions with the wider team to enable them to complete the annual finance and costed outputs budgeting exercises, and provide updates to Governance Groups, the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade finance teams.

 

This role is fixed term for 2 years and has a midpoint of $105,270, appointing salary dependent on individual skills and experience.

 

Ko pūkenga - What you'll bring

  • Strong financial literacy, with senior experience and qualifications in financial management and experience in managing programme finances

  • Ability to take complex information and synthesise into key messages for relevant audiences and in a way which supports the values of the Programme and of the Ministry

  • Experience in government machinery and in public finance systems and processes

  • Familiarity and experience with Polynesian countries' health and development issues and the connections to Pasifika communities in NZ

  • Knowledge of international development, development programmes and principles
