Starting salary: $95,972- $112,181+ superannuation

The role | Te tūnga
This role is fixed term for 18 months based in Auckland, Christchurch or Wellington. Reporting to the Manager - Operations Support within Support & Ingestion, your focus will be to provide training development and delivery services for Collection Operations, including Future Census. you will provide support, coaching, and direction to our training team and delivery training yourself to support our multimodal frontline Data Collection teams to achieve the best possible outcomes for our customers and suppliers and so they can operate safely and effectively.
This role would suit someone who can bring:
A relevant tertiary qualification and/ or equivalent relevant experience for this role.
5+ years' experience leading a team of Training and Development practitioners.
7+ years' experience in workplace adult education, training, and development.
Strong understanding of learning and development principles, including experience
with instructional design, adult learning theory, and blended learning methodologies.
Experience in training package development including SCORM, Video, Webinars,
Articulate, Storyline and PowerPoint.
Experience with Learning Management Systems (we use Totara LMS).
Expertise in best practice in workplace training.
Experience working with diverse teams, promoting DEI, and integrating cultural
competency into training programs.
Demonstrated ability to drive change, innovate, and continuously improve training processes to align with organizational goals and emerging needs.
A passion for building and coaching high performing, diverse teams, and proven experience in people leadership.
Confident managing team and individual performance and capability development.
Approachable and able to communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse audience, with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to take a Stats NZ perspective to ensure the impact of decisions and activities are considered within the context of the wider organisation.
Promotes and protects health, safety and wellbeing.
Have a sound knowledge of key legislation around people leadership, including the Employment Relations Act, and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Have extensive people skills, life skills and work experience to deliver in a role that operates with high autonomy, needing discretion and judgement.
Experience using everyday office software including a laptop/tablet, phone, Microsoft suite of products e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Intranet, online communications channels for meetings and chat.
Competency or fluency in te reo Māori language or possess a willingness to develop knowledge and competence.
Understands Te Tiriti o Waitangi relevance to own role as a public servant and seeks opportunities to better meet the information needs of Māori. Supports initiatives to increase responsiveness to Māori.
