KIINGITANGA BRINGS MAURI OF HUI-AA-MOTU TO RĀTANA
A large delegation from Te Kiingitanga and Tainui Waka arrived at Rātana Pa this afternoon to deliver the mauri (life force) of last Saturday’s Hui-aa-Motu at Turangawaewae.
On Wednesday, Te Kiingitanga will deliver its message on behalf of te Iwi Maaori to political leaders at Rātana, including examples of mana Motuhake discussed at Hui-aa-Motu such as protection of Te Reo, a voice for Rangatahi, more Maaori kaupapa-driven businesses and fulfilling Princess Te Puea's vision of a Maaori hospital.
THOUSANDS EXPECTED TO ATTEND NATIONAL HUI FOR UNITY AT TURANGAWAEWAWE ON 20th JANUARY
The Office of the Kiingitanga and Iwi of Tainui Waka are finalising plans to host more than 3,000 guests at Kiingi Tuheita’s Hui-aa-Motu at Turangawaewae Marae on 20th January, with thousands more to follow the discussions online.
Kiingi Tuheitia Pootatau Te Wherowhero VII issued a Royal Proclamation last December calling for the national hui to unify the nation and hold the Government to account.

Pacific and Māori partnership with Porirua City Council strengthened
Porirua City Council signed off its new Māori and Pacific strategies this morning, in an emotive meeting full of tears, applause and song.
At its regular Te Puna Kōrero meeting, councillors and Porirua Mayor Anita Baker adopted "Ola Kamataga - Beginning of Life 2024-2027: Pacific Strategy for Porirua City", along with the Māori Strategic Plan, called "Maungaroa 2050". The two were developed together and will be in place in time to align with Council’s Long-term Plan, which is developed next year.
