TEC invests over $4 billion power annum in the tertiary education system. While many New Zealanders succeed in that system there are many who do not, especially students from lower socio-economic groups, Māori, Pasifika and disabled. The TEC Board's stated aim is to achieve parity of educational outcomes across the tertiary education system.
