ESR Legal Counsel - Wellington

We have an opportunity for a talented and driven Legal Counsel to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the General Counsel and work closely with the Senior Legal Counsel and the Legal Coordinator. This position is responsible for providing high quality and pragmatic legal support to the business, including reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts, providing privacy advice, interpreting and applying legislation, reviewing and developing templates and policies, and providing legal training to the business.
This role can be based in either Wellington or Christchurch.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
an LLB and current practising certificate
2 – 4 years PQE in a general commercial role within a corporate law firm or an in-house legal team
commercial and contracting law experience, ideally with IT contract review and negotiation experience
strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex legal and commercial concepts
excellent self-management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and willingness to learn
a customer centric approach with strong relationship management skills.
