  • ārahi, mā te tautoko i ngā tikanga ki runga o Rongomaraeroa hei marae nō te motu

  • ārahi me te tautoko kia ū ngā tikanga puta noa i Te Papa

  • whakatū me te whakahaere i tētahi Rōpū Tohutohu Tikanga e whakanohi ana i te Mana Whenua, i te Iwi Kāinga o Te Papa hoki, ā, ka mōhio ki ngā tino pūmanawa o Te Papa kia hāpai i ngā tikanga

  • whakahaere, mā te tautoko me te tūtohu i te tikanga ki Te Papa ki tā te Kaihautū me te Manukura o Ngā Manu Atarau e tono ai, e whakaae ai

  • tautoko i ngā kaupapa a Te Papa e hono ana i ngā iwi, ki tā te Kaihautū, te Manukura o Ngā Manu Atarau me te Pou Awhi ā-Iwi e whakaae ai.

Ka hāngai te whakapae utu ki ngā pūkenga me ngā mōhiotanga o te kaitono ki ērā o te tūranga, ki ngā tikanga hāngaitanga hoki o te utu i ētahi atu o ngā kaimahi.

POU TIKANGA– PERMANENT PART TIME (20 hours per week)

Ngā Manu Atarau

We are excited to recruit for this unique specialist position within the Ngā Manu Atarau directorate at Te Papa. This position is one of two Pou Tikanga roles that complimentary work together to maintain tikanga Māori for and within Te Papa by:

  • providing and coordinating tikanga leadership and advice to support the Te Papa Board, Kaihautū, Tumu Whakarae, and Director Ngā Manu Atarau

  • overseeing and providing tikanga leadership of Rongomaraeroa as a functioning marae of the nation

  • overseeing and providing leadership and support for delivery of tikanga across Te Papa

  • establishing and managing a Tikanga Advisory Group representative of Mana Whenua, Iwi-in-Residence and critical Te Papa tikanga capability

  • overseeing and providing tikanga support and advice to the organisation as determined and agreed by the Kaihautū and Director Ngā Manu Atarau

  • Providing support to organisational iwi relationship activities as agreed by the Kaihautū, Director Ngā Manu Atarau and Pou Awhi ā-Iwi

The Pou Tikanga will bring a confident fluency and familiarity of te ao Māori to lead and grow the application of tikanga within Te Papa, to uphold the pae karanga and Hinewaiata in collaboration with the pae whaikōrero, all within the dynamic and contemporary space to support looking after our taonga and tūpuna.  The specific skills and experience you would bring to be successful in this position is in the position description attached.

The salary range for the Pou Tikanga position is $154,344 to $183,283 pro rata as these are part-time positions. Offers will be made to reflect the skills and experience offered by the candidates and those required of these positions including internal relativities with other employees.
