Māori Information and Research Services Librarian - Manawatū

Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to do just that within Massey University Library on the Manawatū Campus. 

This role is instrumental in creating a welcoming community for students and staff with a particular focus on our Māori whānau.  

Do you have:

  • Fluency or a reasonable level of competency in te reo Māori

  • A reasonable knowledge of tikanga Māori

  • Proven skills and confidence in outreach and liaison to proactively seek and establish collaborative relationships

  • An understanding of the research, teaching and learning processes

  • The ability to develop and manage the Ngā Kupu Ora collection at Manawatū Library

  • Whilst a degree or professional library qualification would be ideal, our focus is on finding the right person to make this unique role come to life. 

Pivotal to the success of this role is competency in te reo Māori and knowledge of tikanga Māori. As well as this is the ability to build relationships and community through proactively supporting the learning, teaching, research and enterprise needs of our Māori staff and students.
