Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Kāpuhipuhi Wellington Uni-Professional Ltd is currently recruiting a Programme Manager, International on a full-time, fixed-term contract until September 2025. This position supports the procurement and management of the successful implementation of the portfolio of programmes under the English Language Training (ELT) umbrella, specifically the NZELTO Africa Programme portfolio and In-country (IC-ELT) programme.

Key responsibilities of the role

Develops and maintains processes and relationships to support the successful operation and delivery of the ELT and IC-ELT programmes with strong attention to detail, quality, and accuracy. This includes:

  • Work with key stakeholders and coordinating ministries to develop, design and promote the programme including the selection of candidates.

  • Pre-arrival Services – travel arrangements, visa applications and briefings.

  • Pastoral care and logistics.

  • Monitoring and Evaluation.

  • Budget Financial Management and reporting.

  • Assist with the other international programmes and activities as requested.

The day-to-day tasks will include a blend of programme management and programme administration and coordination. The right balance of traits for this role is a mix of autonomy, problem solving, and teamwork, but you’ll always have the full support of both the Wellington Uni-Professional ELT and operations teams.

To succeed in this role, you'll be a team player. Our perfect person will have some or all the education, experience and knowledge listed below:

  • Proven understanding of adult education principles and practice.

  • Proven knowledge of tikanga Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and mātauranga Māori.

  • Networks in the public sector and related organisations and businesses.

  • Demonstrated effective project management skills and understanding, and an outcome-oriented approach.

  • Demonstrated experience in financial and budget management.

  • Experience managing relationships and working with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Understanding and appreciation of cultural differences.

  • A high level of technical competency in Microsoft Office products and internet applications.

  • Demonstrated experience in business development activities.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent.

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends, and travel if necessary.
