Salary: $70,720.00 – $80,720.00 salary range dependent on experience

Role Summary:
InsideOUT Kōaro is seeking a full-time School Services Manager to oversee and support our national School Service and our team of regional Schools Coordinators to make schools across Aotearoa safer places for rainbow young people.
As our School Services Manager, you will have responsibility for overseeing national support and advocacy for schools and rainbow ākonga. This includes oversight and distribution of resources, our Schools Tracker database, monthly newsletters to schools, delivery of Q’D UP Aotearoa, facilitating professional development and engaging with external stakeholders. Note that this role will require travel from time to time.

We are looking for the right person to take on a leadership role within our team and come on this journey with us. This means that a high level of prior knowledge and ability to demonstrate cultural safety is essential for a successful applicant to have.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic leadership of our School Services
Direct management and support of School Coordinators (a team of 14 staff)
Ability to support and guide the team with knowledge of best practice
Supporting recruitment, hiring, induction, professional development, performance reviews and exit interviews for your team members
Responsible for regular qualitative and quantitative funding reportbacks, and regular meetings with funders
Oversee the management and reporting of our CRM/database to track interactions with schools
Delivery of a monthly newsletter for schools
Facilitation of a monthly Zoom peer support space for school staff
Assist with the delivery of professional development workshops to schools or conferences as needed
Oversee the delivery of a monthly zoom hui for rainbow young people in secondary schools
Represent InsideOUT in external engagements with the education sector, the government sector and the community sector
Take part in relevant training, meetings or other tasks to support InsideOUT’s journey to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Support InsideOUT and your team to deliver on the annual plan and strategic plan
Responsible for the establishment of processes and procedures to help your team work effectively
Experience Required – Essential Skills:
Management or leadership experience, ideally in a community setting
Strong knowledge of rainbow communities and the challenges facing rangatahi in schools, including those at the intersections of different minority experiences
Strong understanding of intersectionality, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Māori and ability to put this into practice
Commitment to InsideOUT Kōaro’s responsibility to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi in our work
Able to self manage and take initiative
Administrative skills, in particular using digital tools such as Google Suite, Zoom, Asana, Slack, Mailchimp, Salesforce or other CMR/database systems
Time management skills
Communication skills (written and verbal)
Excellent people skills, emotional intelligence, good judgement, ability to be calm and discrete, ability to respond effectively to feedback
Experience with stakeholder engagement/external relationship building
Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
Comfortable with a lot of Zoom-based interactions
Strongly desired:
Qualifications in social work, education, youth work (or a similar field)
A proven ability to motivate and inspire staff
Knowledge of schools/education sector
Experience with written reporting on your work
Experience writing policies or process guidelines
Facilitation experience
Familiarity with youth work in Aotearoa
Full driving licence and own vehicle
