Senior Business Advisor - OHS and Wellbeing (Palmerston North)

Massey University is seeking a Senior Business Advisor to join our Occupational Health, Safety and Wellbeing (OHSW) Directorate.

Based at our Manawatū Campus in Palmerston North, this role offers a salary range of $94,210 - $126,536, reflecting the experience and expertise of the successful candidate.

This is a key position in a dynamic five-person team, focused on enhancing and sustaining organisational safety and wellbeing across the university.

As a strategic leader and business partner, you will:

  • lead the design, capacity building, and growth of OHSW performance

  • act as a trusted advisor to key university areas, supporting leadership in safe human and organisational performance

  • drive risk management programs, ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015

  • foster a Te Tiriti-led approach, working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across Massey's campuses.

About you

You are an experienced OHSW practitioner with a strong human and organisational performance (HOP) mindset.

You bring:

  • a tertiary qualification in a relevant field (or equivalent experience)

  • proven experience in strategic safety leadership and risk management

  • strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and key stakeholders

  • knowledge of safety governance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks in a large organisation

  • a passion for innovation in workplace safety and a commitment to hauora and wellbeing.
