Starting salary: $95,972.00 - $112,181.00 + superannuation

The role | Te tūnga

The Senior Collection Cost Analyst role is fixed term, based in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and sits within the Collections Design team in the newly created Optimisation, Performance and Development unit in Collection Operations. This role will focus on cost and resource modelling relating to the 'Future Census" workstream, partnering closely with the Finance team and Methods & Design to produce high level resource plans. 

This will be a fixed term, full-time position for 18 months while the project is in its design phase.

The successful applicant will:

  • Lead and/or contribute extensively to the design and development activities for 'Future Census' collections cost models and Stats NZ product costings.

  • Create and maintain long term resource and costing forecasts across Collections, including analysing costs, exploring alternative solutions, and providing recommendations.

  • Work collaboratively with wider Collection Operations to develop roadmaps and team plans.

  • Peer review and coach/mentor others in the team to enable collaborative working on small or medium complex data and costing solutions.

This role would suit someone who can bring:

  • In-depth experience working in a collection environment, specifically focused on implementing resource and cost models, overseeing model development and leading initiatives across teams.

  • Experience using SAS/R/SQL/PowerBI or equivalent systems at an expert level.

  • Experience working with and managing budgets.

  • Provide peer coaching and mentoring to the wider team.
