Te tūnga | The role
Across Stats NZ the Senior Operations Design Analysts roles are responsible for leading, researching, designing, and implementing a range of innovative data and analytical solutions to support and inform all stages of the data collections lifecycle across Stats NZ.
You would be joining the operational business unit responsible for the design and planning of all of Stats NZ's data collections for Future Census surveys. As a Senior Operations Design Analyst you will lead research, design and planning for new surveys as well as continuously improving ongoing collection activity.
You would be engaging with a broad range of people to understand data collection requirements and the operational realities and provide support in the form of expert guidance and advice to our operational teams and internal customers.

3-5 years' experience using research tools and techniques, and data analysis capability
Familiarity with the principles of project management, and problem-solving capability

Knowledge and experience, or desire to learn and build knowledge and experience of TeTiriti, Tikanga, TeReo and TeAo Māori, and engagement with Māori
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, user experience, design psychology or related field would be advantageous as would Project Management qualifications
