About this role |Mō tēnei tūranga

We are looking for an experienced manager who will lead service delivery through a team of committed professionals, delivering a range of learning support services to children and young people from 0-21 years.  They will work with early childhood providers and schools to improve educational outcomes.

 

This role needs to lead change through leadership and management that influences and motivates others through personal advocacy, vision and aspiration in a collaborative environment.  

Salary range: $115,624 - $139,091 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary based on their individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake
To be successful in this role you will have the following capabilities and competencies:

  • Experience leading complex teams delivering services.

  • Develop strong connections and networks across the Ministry, local education providers, iwi, communities and whānau to achieve educational priorities for the region.

  • Broker support from across the Ministry and other agencies to deliver integrated work programmes tailored to local needs.

  • Experience at influencing and leading innovation, people, programmes, and change.

  • Ability to follow through and finish complex or sensitive tasks and issues.

  • Ability to use and interpret data including the ability to use information to influence decisions.

  • Manages and monitors client access systems to ensure service responsiveness is maximised.

  • Ability to identify positive educational outcomes for parents, principals and early learning services through effective relationship building.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification.

  • Current full driver’s licence.

  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.


About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake

At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whanau.

Te Mahau | Te Tai Whenua (Central) is a frontline group. Our frontline groups collectively provide leadership and integrated services to the sector and others. This includes services, such as learning support and education advice and regulation functions for schools and early learning services. As a frontline group, we develop and harness existing relationships with communities at the regional and local level through the Directors of Education.
