Team Leader, Data/Development - Wellington

The purpose of this role is to lead a data analysis and development centre of excellence that delivers the data warehouse and application solutions needed to manage TEC's data. You will at the forefront skills and technology change to leverage our data to achieve our strategic outcomes. In addition, this role will lead business engagement, both internally and externally, to deliver data products to help TEC deliver on its strategic outcomes. At the same time, you will provide high-level technical expertise, mentoring, and embedding good software development lifecycle practice across the team of developers and analysts.

What will you be doing?            

  • Lead a high performing data warehouse development team that serves today and is future focused with the move to cloud technologies like Databricks.

  • Lead the business engagement on the development of data products across TEC, including the development of data models and diagrams to represent and communicate data requirements.

  • Coordinate the resourcing for internal and external data and information requests.

  • Ensure adherence to enterprise technical strategies and systems architectures.

  • Champion good practice software development lifecycle processes, embedding quality into everything you do.

  • Develop and maintain coding standards, testing methodologies and documentation practices.

  • Proven and strong experience in data warehouse development including cloud technologies

  • Represent the organisation in interactions with stakeholders, if required experience in how information can support an organisation to achieve its business goals
