Team Leader Residential Services - Auckland

About the Role:

Our specialist group home operate 24/7, 365 days a year, providing a therapeutic residential program tailored specifically for young girls. We prioritize their daily care, collaborate closely with therapists and schools, and ensure a safe and supportive environment.

As a Team Leader, you will lead your team in delivering high-quality therapeutic care with safety as a primary focus. You'll oversee assessments and placement planning, working closely with Oranga Tamariki and other providers to ensure seamless transitions. Your role will also involve driving continuous improvement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise a range of social work skills and strategies consistent with Barnardos' practice approach and framework when working with clients and families.

  • Provide consistent supervision and support the personal and professional development of staff.

  • Maintain close liaison with stakeholders and the community, adhering to Barnardos principles and Nga Pou e Wha.

  • Lead in the assessment and planning of placements, ensuring safety and therapeutic care for young girls.

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Social Worker eligible for membership with an appropriate professional body (preferred).

  • Experience in and passion for working with youth in residential settings.

  • Proven experience in contract, financial management, and reporting.

  • Strong leadership skills with a track record in developing and leading effective teams.

  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities.

  • Possess a full clean driver’s license.
