Te Tari o te Pou Koko Māori/Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Māori
Te Tari o te Pou Koko Māori provides strategic advice through:
Leading the development and implementation of the University's Māori academic research and teaching objectives, strengthening Māori content, delivery and methodology
Leading and supporting Māori staff and students through new and existing networks, helping mātauraka Māori flourish and furthering places where Māori staff and students can be Māori
Developing innovative ways for all students to engage and learn about, and in, te ao Māori
Growing our research that engages with te ao Māori
Te Mahi/The Role
Kaiwhakahaere Kaupapa/Project Manager is a newly established role within Te Tari o te Pou Koko Māori.
This senior role will lead the launch of the Toitū Te Reo Workstream, a critical initiative to meet the needs of current and prospective kaimahi and tauira to work and learn in te reo Māori.
The Toitū Te Reo Workstream will bring together current activity into four critical programmes:
1. Immersion: growing the skills and confidence of staff to work in te reo Māori.
2. Teaching, learning and assessment: clear frameworks and support for te reo Māori-medium teaching, learning and assessment.
3. Theses and Publications: more staff and students writing, examining and publishing in te reo Māori.
4. Policies and practices: providing opportunities for staff to utilise te reo Māori in core work activities.
You will play a key role in planning, implementing and reporting on this transformational workstream, supporting the success of the Whakamana i Te Tiriti o Waitangi Domain - such an exciting mahi to be involved in as we work together on bringing to life Pae Tawhiti 2040.

To be successful in this key role, you will:
Have advanced proficiency in te reo and tikaka Māori
Demonstrate commitment to and expertise in Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Have experience in project management, translating strategy into action, influencing organisational practice and contributing to transformative change
Have excellent oral and written communication and facilitation skills in te reo Māori and English
Tertiary qualification and excellent understanding of the tertiary education sector would be a distinct advantage for this role. We are looking for people who exhibit personal integrity, sound professional judgement, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

This position is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week), located in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.

The appointments range for this role is $78,018 to $82,753, Top of Range $97,368.
